The IP Manager is the responsible IP representative to steer the IP evaluation and prosecution activities for selected technology areas. Your work will help ensure freedom to operate and support new value creation for the KWS Group. You will closely interact with partners across the business as well as in breeding and R&D.
The position is unlimited and on a full-time basis.
The place of work is either Berlin or in our HQ in Einbeck, Southern Lower Saxony.
Your Tasks – Challenge meets Responsibility:
As the responsible IP representative you develop strategies that protect and create value using patents, PVP, and other means of know-how protection across the KWS Group for defined technical areas within biotechnology, breeding, biostatistics, digital technology, etc.
Closely interact with stakeholders from R&D, Breeding, Legal and Business to promote product development and to generate IP value
Evaluate and monitor the competitive IP landscape to ensure freedom to operate
Manage patent prosecution in line with KWS business needs worldwide
Participate in preparation, review, and negotiation of contracts for the protection of intellectual property
Your Profile – Competence meets Personality:
Master or PhD degree in life sciences, biology, agronomy, plant breeding or in a related field
Working experience in the IP field; a Patent Attorney qualification would be a plus
Customer-oriented, can-do attitude
Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, and collaboration skills
Proficiency in English and German
